In case you haven’t been following the setlists, Springsteen is doing some pretty incredible shows in Europe right now – like, “debates about whether these are the best shows he’s EVER played” kind of shows.
When The Boss announced he was touring with a horn section this year, it felt like he was giving some cover to Jake Clemons, taking some of the pressure off of, quite literally, filling the E Street Band’s biggest shoes. But since the start, Jake’s taken all the biggest solos—Born to Run, Badlands, Thunder Road, you name it—and nailed them.
That said, there’s one solo—THE solo—that the E Street Band hadn’t touched since the Big Man’s passing. Until last night in Sweden, that is. And the kid nailed it again.
Here’s hoping that the marathon sets continue all the way until November, I’m saving my money for the show in Vancouver. Also: Jungleland! If I could see this live I would be a very happy person.
