AV Undercover 2012
I’ve been catching up on the latest season of AV Undercover and there are some really great covers this year. I think there’s a three way tie for the best one so far. The first is a joint collaboration between Cursive and Cymbals Eat Guitars doing the Gin Blossoms:

The second is The Punch Brothers doing a fantastic version of my favourite Cars song, “Just What I Needed”:
If the Punch Brothers sound familiar, they’ve also done an amazing version of Radiohead’s “2+2=5” that’s well worth a listen. (Speaking of which, I really need to try make it down to Pickathon one of these years.)
The third awesome thing from this year’s AV Undercover is a group from Memphis called Lucero doing David Bowie’s “Modern Love”:
It’s a tough call, but I think this is my favourite of the three.
